Big Ford Trucks

Everyone knows the history of Ford; it started in the early nineteen hundreds and has continued to this day to be one of the top three vehicle manufactures. Ford is different because of the innovation and very good management; making it one of the oldest automobile manufactures. When Ford started out there was not a large demand for pick up trucks, but the population soon wanted trucks so they could transport their wares.

Through the years big Ford trucks came to be and the F-series was launched around the mid nineteen fifties. In nineteen seventy eight the F-series began to catch on and it seemed like everybody wanted one. It did end up being one of America’s best selling big Ford trucks. Then in the mid nineteen eighties it became the best selling truck of any make or model.

Because of the increased newer and more modern technologies; and loaded with nicer upgrades, it seems to be the best truck around. Called the super Duty, it has either a diesel or gasoline engines. It has improved the mileage so it now is in the double digit count. Ford claims an increase of fifteen percent on the gas engines and an eighteen percent on the diesel engine. It comes with super crew, super cab and regular.

The new big ford trucks come with torqushift Select shift which is automatic; new frame strength, standard front and side airbags; trailer sway control, tailgate step, and new and improved interior design, etc. this big truck comes loaded and is gaining popularity every day.

The newer big Ford trucks are in a different class; having the tonnage of over eight thousand pounds, than the regular F-Ford series, but is still in the same category. The newer ones have two ‘closed loop’ front tow hook design. Compared to the old conventional open hooks; which could bend or even break during towing; the new closed loop will not break or bend.

Many features of the big Ford trucks have been upgraded and the interior is a lot nicer. They come with different cab styles, an updated three bar grille on the front; and different choices of trim levels. With a lighter weight chassis and high strength steel makes for better fuel economy. Newer safety features have been added to the new big Ford trucks.

Much of the interior of big Ford trucks are like luxury cars, as they have a quieter drive because of the extra insulation. There is a lot more leg room, in the front and back seats. There are more seating positions so one can be extra comfortable on long drives. The big Ford trucks also have the SYNC voice controlled system, a Sony stereo system and various other items. Many big Ford trucks come with soft leather covered seats, front and back. They also carry the state of the art navigation systems.
